Monarch Migrati-none

According to recent studies the North American Monarch Butterfly migration rates are now at record lows. During the peak of the winter season millions of butterflies coat every tree about 100 miles away from Mexico City, but this year the sights are a little less breath taking and professionals say that if the decline continues then there may never be visuals quite like past ones ever again. The root of this problem is still unknown, but if we don't find out what's wrong fast then the world will lose one of its greatest natural phenomenons.

Richard Sherman

Following the Seattle Seahawks 23-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers to send them into the Superbowl Richard Sherman had a few extra words that he wanted to get out there while he was still full of adrenaline. In a post game interview he called out Michael Crabtree, a 49ers receiver, and stated that he was the best cornerback in the game. Big words that received a lot of negative feedback from the rest of the sporting world. He later apologized for the comments, but everyone still gets the feeling that he's not truly sorry. Richard Sherman has proven himself as an elite corner, but he will go up against one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time in Peyton Manning on the biggest stage in pro football.

Police Officer Acquitted in Kelly Thompson Case Wants His Job Ba

On July 5, 2011 a homeless man named Kelly Thompson was beaten to death by two police officers. The man was diagnosed with schizophrenia and while being beaten he was recorded as yelling, "Dad help me! They're killing me! I'm sorry!" over and over again. Kelly died five days after the altercation due to multiple chest and face injuries. The police officers involved were fired in early 2012 and were recently acquitted because they were "acting within their guidelines." Now Jay Cicinelli, one of the police officers, is requesting to be given his job back. Many people are making petitions to have this case go to federal court, but for now these men are innocent and free.

7 More Years of Mediocrity

Jay Cutler has been impressive at times during his five year stint with the Chicago Bears. He won the NFC North once and took da Bears to the NFC Championship once as well. This is often overshadowed by the fact that he has been injured in every season and is sometimes known for being an inconsistent player. His record as a starter in the Windy City is an above average 39-28, but in those games he has played like a top tier quarterback at times and a scrub at others. And after an emotional 33-28 loss to the Green Bay Packers less than a week ago it seems puzzling that the Bears signed him Thursday to a 7 year contract. The salary of this new deal was undisclosed but reports say that he will earn around 18 million dollars per year. This is frustrating to many Bears fans and at 30 years of age Jay Cutler still has a lot to prove to the city of Chicago.
